Frequently Asked Questions

  • Fire Pit Rings

  • How large of a ring should I get?

Keep at least 3” from edges and make sure you have enough gas pressure and volume to support the ring.

  • What size Fire Pit Ring do I need?

When sizing a burner, you will need to allow a minimum of 3" of space from the edges of the burner to the inside of the enclosure. This helps ensure that the flames don't damage the top of the enclosure.

  • What is a fire pit ring?

A fire pit ring is a circular burner that distributes gas to create an even, beautiful flame. It’s one of the core components of a gas fire pit.

  • What's the difference between a fire pit ring and a burner pan?

A fire pit ring creates the flame, while a burner pan holds the media (like fire glass or lava rock) and supports the ring. They often work together in a complete fire pit setup.

  • How do I choose the right size fire pit ring?

Choose a ring that is 6–8 inches smaller than the inside diameter of your fire pit. This leaves space for media and keeps the flames centered and controlled.

  • Can I use a fire pit burner with both propane and natural gas?

Yes, but the ring must be designed for your fuel type. Propane rings usually include an air mixer to help with clean burning. Natural gas rings don’t need one.

  • Do fire pit burners come in different shapes?

Yes! While round rings are the most common, we also offer H-style, and linear designs depending on the look and flame pattern you want.

  • Can I bury the fire pit ring under fire glass or lava rock?

Yes, but don’t bury it too deep. Just enough coverage to hide the ring while still allowing good airflow. For propane especially, proper ventilation is important for clean burning.

  • What are fire pit rings made of?

Most are made of stainless steel, which is durable, rust-resistant, and safe for high-heat outdoor use.

  • Is it hard to install a fire pit ring?

Installation is fairly simple. However, we always recommend consulting a professional to ensure proper gas connections and safety.
